"Have it your way."
If I could have it my way, the new year would start the very first day of autumn. Every time the wind picks up a chill and the leaves begin to yellow and fall, it feels like I've been given a fresh start. I find myself trying new things, meeting new people, and making resolutions for the upcoming season.
Good things happen in the fall. Mother Nature nudges you to slow down and enjoy the quieter moments: crisp afternoon walks, stomping in the fallen leaves, sipping pumpkin coffee on the patio, bundling up in cozy knits to watch the stars. It's a time to get back to nature. And while the days get shorter, I find myself spending more time with my family and friends playing board games, making potato gratin, listening to records, and in my house, enlisting everyone on hand to help decorate for the season.
This fall, I have big dreams: learn Italian, take a weekend trip to the mountains, go on one festive fall date with a special boy, carve the illest pumpkin you've ever seen, brew a batch of pear infused spirits, and spend an entire Sunday crafting covered in Modge Podge and Plaster of Paris.
Here are a few snaps from our first day of autumn celebrations!
